Sean and Puck live on a small island known for it's horse races. Not just any horse race but a horse race with the capaill uisce, carnivorous water horses. Each year men from Thisby capture these animals and attempt to tame them so they can race them the next year. Both Sean and Puck are desperate to win because they need the money, but they may not live to see the end of the race because year after year men and horses are killed during the race. Edge of your seat read. I listened on audiobook and I would hate to turn off my car at the end of the day!
